VISUAL CAMPAIGN:
We are pleased to announce the collaboration with the renowned artist WEIRDCORE for #C2C19 official campaign 'LA LUCE AL BUIO: SEASON 2'.
Weirdcore's work is the result of years of experimental design and animation work that pushes the boundaries of consciousness and visual interpretation. Adopting a method used more often by artists and music producers rather than by visual directors, Weirdcore helps both advise and visualise others initial ideas, facilitating their progress through until the finished form, whilst also creating his own stunning individual projects. With a unique blend of formats, colours, designs and mediums, Weirdcore has collaborated with some of the most exciting modern artists and directors such as Aphex Twin, M.I.A, Nabil, Hype Williams, Charlie XCX, Skrillex, Sophie Muller, Diane Martel and Miley Cyrus, in order to create innovative and groundbreaking videos, visuals, interactive installations and other projects.

CAST:
Producer/singer/songwriter JAMES BLAKE has become universally known for a unique style that wrapped aching, gently sung R&B vocals around deep bass and minimal rhythmic elements. After a series of singles, he achieved both critical acclaim and worldwide fame following his self-titled 2011 album. His renown continued to rise over the next several years, and he collaborated with artists such as Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Bon Iver, Frank Ocean, in addition to consistently working on solo material.
His latest album 'Assume Form' (featuring collaborations with Travis Scott, André 3000, Metro Boomin, Moses Sumney and Rosalía) is arguably his most direct, eclectic and pure artistic statement to date.
The alias of Australian electronic musician and producer Harley Edward Streten, FLUME makes atmospheric dance music inspired by house and UK garage. Recruiting collaborators from across genres, he rose up the mainstage ranks with his 2012 debut and his Grammy-winning 2016 sophomore effort 'Skin'. He returned in early 2019 with the mixtape 'Hi This Is Flume', which took many by surprise thanks to its experimental style.
With their debut album 'Night Drive', CHROMATICS caused quite a stir presenting us with wonderful melancholic melodies, spheric synth sounds and hypnotic vocals. The four-piece band from Portland, Oregon later secured their role as a landscape-defining band with 'Kill For Love'. Various songs would eventually be featured in television series, and in 2017 the band performed at the end of the season premiere of Twin Peaks revival series.
Two other projects from the label co-founded by the Chromatics' Johnny Jewel (Los Angeles-based Italians Do It Better) will be performing at the Festival's new edition: led by Jesse Taylor, IN MIRRORS, with its dark and dreamlike soundscapes, and DESIRE, an electronic pop music trio whose music was featured in Nicolas Winding Refn's film 'Drive'.
And THE COMET IS COMING - the trio featuring saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, considered the leading light of the contemporary British jazz scene - has an adventurous and electrifying approach to music.
After his irresistible set at Club To Club's previous edition, we welcome the return of SKEE MASK, the German producer whose second album 'Compro' was praised as one of 2018's best dance albums by the most prestigious magazines. 'Nothing Great About Britain', the first album by 24-year-old SLOWTHAI, was greeted with unanimous critical acclaim thank to the way its rough rhymes combine with a peculiar mix of grime, hip hop and electronic sounds. The popularity of NU GUINEA is also increasingly international, after the crossover success of their cult 'Nuova Napoli' album: in addition to the duo formed by Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina, Club To Club will feature a collective named NAPOLI SEGRETA, producers of the eponymous compilation dedicated to the Neapolitan disco and funk scene of the 70's and 80's.
Portland, Oregon-based duo VISIBLE CLOAKS will present an exclusive set with YOSHIO OJIMA and SATSUKI SHIBANO, trailblazers of the Japanese ambient music scene with whom they produced their latest album 'serenitatem'. Their approach is as experimental as that of Liz Harris - a musician also known as Grouper - who on this occasion will introduce her alternative project NIVHEK, rarefied as emotional. English duo RAP is among the most talked-about of 2019: their debut album "Export" combines influences ranging from dub techno to post-punk in unusual ways. At the vanguard of a vital East African music scene, Kenyan DJ/producer SLIKBACK combines local rhythmic heritage with sheer, abstract electronics.
Even some of the most consolidated music genres are projected into the future by artists who will perform in the 19th edition of Club To Club: for example in the creative and innovative take on pop made by those two English girls who call themselves LET'S EAT GRANDMA, or in the way London quartet BLACK MIDI imagines indie rock for the coming years. And again, in the peculiar mix of classical, folk, electronic elements and r&b made by singer-songwriter, cellist and producer KELSEY LU, and in the singular vision of MORMOR, whose ambitious and genre-bending pop songs are influenced by his African and Caribbean heritage and by his hometown of Toronto.
